A Tuscan Style Wedding in a Week!

Just a tight 10 days before the wedding, the bride’s aunt reached out to ask if we’d be available to provide florals. An even tighter 7 days before the BIG DAY, we had a meeting and site visit. The request: Full-Service Florals—installations, personals, and ceremony and reception décor. Although such a short timeline isn’t ideal, we were proud to be able to deliver exceptional service and beautiful work.

Matching the Client’s Vision

We live in an instant-gratification world—bouncy delivery vans dropping items at your doorstep like a pet grey cat. But in the floral industry, even with fabulous international infrastructure, it’s still a gamble working with live, fresh product. Then add the nuance of colour: what does “peach” or “blush” actually mean? Translating a dreamy digital image into what actually grew in a field or greenhouse—and then into your hands, onto the ceremony arch, or across the reception tables—leaves plenty of room for surprises. And plenty of room for delight, too, when we collaborate with clients and communicate clearly that, as professionals, we can be trusted to select and design what’s freshest, best, and on point.

This requires clarity on the client’s part—expressing the desired look and feel of the day—and trust in the florist to design and deliver accordingly.

Tuscan Villa Vibes

The wedding took place on a private estate with sprawling, manicured gardens and the architecture and patina of a Tuscan villa. The mood was casual “family wedding”: an afternoon secret-garden ceremony, a kids’ zone, cocktail hour, live entertainment, long-table dining in the courtyard around the fountain, and dancing (all ages) late into the night.

As designers, we’re challenged to interpret that mood in real life, balancing palette/colour, bloom availability, weather (it was HOT!), scale (BIG!), and style (“casual,” yet considered).

Before & After

The Reality Behind the Beauty

The Garden-Gathered design style that Twiggage & Bloom is known for is deceptively casual. If the florals appear to have just grown there—imagine the hostess, in her breezy linen dress, wafting through her garden that morning, tucking freshly clipped blooms into a woven trug and effortlessly throwing together a few arrangements before guests arrive—then we’ve nailed the vibe. In reality, it takes a knowledgeable florist; tons of planning, logistics, and spreadsheets; prepping sundries; ordering and harvesting botanicals; conditioning flowers (critical!); careful transport; a skilled crew; and the ability to work as part of a larger vendor team. Because we’re using perishable florals in precarious conditions and often styling on tight timelines, good preparation is a must. We want blooms at their fullest, billowy best—right before they’d wilt or shatter—so they create awe and wonder for every guest.

Our Expertise Makes Elegance Effortless

For a Full-Service package, many features are installed on site because transporting them would be impractical. We love the Garden-Gathered style for its illusion of permanence—as if the florals grew there. A wispy vine or nodding bloom that bursts beyond the confines of a tidy “roundy-moundy” arrangement hints at belonging.

Everything Done For You

Full-Service floral design is often undervalued. Like a seamless hair extension or a clever trompe l’oeil, if guests can’t tell what was designed versus what was woven into the setting, we’ve done our job. In today’s wedding world—with a million mood boards and some with spontaneous AI enhancements—couples requesting this service should understand the value it provides. For this Tuscan-inspired wedding, the vibe came naturally as we drove up the winding driveway into a setting that felt like a true villa. Shuttling around on golf carts, setting up temporary workstations on tarps, tiptoeing around fellow vendors, and battling the elements of weather, time, gravity, and moods—we crafted our magic and slipped away before the guests arrived. Our clients witnessed the “before and after” transformation and graciously thanked us for our work.
